We
invite you to return to the
gracious hospitality of yesteryear without leaving today's comforts! Enjoy
3 spacious guest
rooms,
each with private renovated baths, a whirlpool tub, fireplaces, TV/VCRs and Wi-Fi access for your laptop while you discover the timeless peace of
Clarke County VA.
You
can enjoy a relaxing visit to the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. The
Lost Dog B&B is only 45
minutes from Dulles Airport (and less than one tank of gas from many cities), but you'll think you've
traveled back in time to get here. Imagine driving into an older, slower time and community… Berryville,
VA is a town with a real Main Street and friendly people.
Tourism
is expected to bring visitor's to rural B&B's in record numbers this
season as close by auto vacations replace the increasing delays and expense of airline
travel. City dwellers are seeking out
nearby small town B&Bs when burdened by stress and are likely to return several times a
year. As
one of our guests wrote:
"It's
not that I do not love my life, I really DO!
But sometimes I find my mind wondering if I couldn't
reserve a place in the
Witness Protection Program. I'm really glad I found The Lost Dog B&B."
A
trip to The Lost Dog is a
perfect opportunity to catch your breath during the final weeks of wedding
planning, or as a "baby-moon" before the first child joins your family.
Romantic trips can
be even more memorable when spent at a B&B. Two or more couples enjoy meeting
for " no-host weekends" at B&Bs because the fun is maximized and the work is minimized.
"Relax and enjoy
yourself." From the moment you arrive, your host, Sandy,
makes you feel like you've just come home…Click to see photos of our
three guest
rooms with lots of old country charm.
This circa 1884 house is just full of things most
people haven't experienced before … hot water radiators, high ceilings,
big rooms, wide plank floors, picture-rail moldings, double-hung sash
windows, metal roofs, a
garden full of seating areas, a lawn perfect for croquet or a snooze in
the hammock, and porches with rockers and wicker chairs. Even a quiet spot
in the parlor with comfy chairs to enjoy a good book, (but, beware the
"nap-monster" lurking in the red chair).
Situated in the heart of the northern Shenandoah Valley, there are
plenty of Things To Do after you enjoy that great breakfast. Enjoy nearby golf, vineyards
and restaurants, hiking, horseback riding, state and national parks,
shopping, caverns, and historical homes. Click on What's
Happening? for a calendar list of events happening nearby.
